Welcome to the Friday the 13th Blog Hop Tour. There is a button at the bottom that will direct you to your next stop on this journey. At each stop, you have the chance to win prizes, as well as enter the free Kindle giveaway. Don't miss a single one!
What do you do on Friday the 13th? Watch for ladders? Don't cross paths with a black cat? Go see a slasher movie? How about curling up with a good vampire book, or watching a vintage movie on Creature Features?
We love to be scared. Notice I said LOVE to be scared. Vampires are now cool. We even have zombies, the stuff of horror films you had to cover your eyes at the bad parts. I went to those on a dare. Just the sound effects were enough to scare me awake all night.
But with the modern craze for vampires, they aren't the dark ghoulish things of 40 years ago. They can be sexy, all-powerful alpha males. But they are also dangerous. We have the attraction and the danger all rolled up into one. A perfect combination!
I love the duality of vampires, the powerful and strong part, and the sexy, vulnerable part. Being an immortal lover? Can there be anything more exciting? Sneaking off to dark places, things done in private, passions stronger than anything human. What's not to love?
What do you love about vampires? Pretend I send you on a treasure hunt. Where will you find a vampire this Friday the 13th? One lucky commenter who joins this new site will get a Kindle or Nook formatted copy of Honeymoon Bite, by Sharon Hamilton. Be sure to leave your email address and preference for format. Don't be shy, jump in. You'll be glad you did.
And if you want a little dark humor with your Friday the 13th, may I suggest one of my Toys for Tarts: The Stimulus Package, Buzz Words and Road Rage.
If you dare, proceed with extreme caution:
I believe I'd find a vampire at the movies, all those tasty necks plus the added cloak of darkness shtick :P

I'll find my vampire in my bedroom - hubby's grandmother was born in Transylvania, lol.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win your book in Kindle format.

I would drive to Mystic Falls and find Damon. :D If I win, Kindle version please.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! There are probably vampires, zombies, and all sorts of ghouls under my teenager's bed. :-)
ReplyDeleteI would look for one in an dimly lit old bookstore. Nook format if I win.

Looks like the bedroom wins so far - what a place to find dark, dangerous vamps. And I like the idea of a dimly lit bookstore, a lonely garden path or Mystic Falls.
ReplyDeleteAnd who could doubt finding nice soft necks in the movie theater? Sometimes I think my old boyfriends took me to scary movies just to find mine!
Great responses, everyone!
I joined your site and would love to win
ReplyDeleteKindle format please

Got you entered, Virginia. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI live close to farming communities so I would look for one in an old barn. Up in the hayloft probably. I am a new follower on GFC as seriousreader. Kindle format please.
ReplyDeleteseriousreader at live dot com
Thank you, Linda. I can totally see a vampire lurking inside a musty old barn, hovering, waiting to claim the heroine.
DeleteSome of those farming communities that wear black and stick to themselves? They harvest their animals communally and have meetings at night? Hmmm...gives me another idea.
I would love for one in an old castle. I am a new follower (GFC: June M.). I would choose Kindle format.
ReplyDeletemanning_j2004 at yahoo dot com
Old castles. We once stayed in a castle in Scotland, and I could swear the walls were breathing. I agree, vamps would surely hang out there, looking for lovely lonely ladies.
DeleteI want to find on in an old Southern Plantation Mansion.
ReplyDeleteBeing from the South, these are my favorite places.
I have a Kindle.

Michelle,
DeleteYes! A plantation with the moss hanging down about 6' and strange night creatures running around in the woods nearby. A place that has been lived in for generations would surely play home to a good vampire coven or two.
I live in the middle of no where :/ so I think I would look in a corn field for a vampire not much else where I live! Pdf format please I dont have a kindle hoping to win one!! ;)
ReplyDeletebrandon_savannah@yahoo.com
Savannah,
DeleteIn a cornfield? I can see a vamp inhabiting the body of a scarecrow by day (somehow would protect him/her) and leaving that crusty shell by night to prey and have sensual escapades. They could hang out in a grain silo, or perch in the trees overlooking the river.
Mmm, in a night club down in Denver, or stalking the beaches of Norther California... Walking in the moonlight *purrs*
ReplyDeleteNook please!
shadowestr@ aol . com
Perse,
DeleteGreat images! The cities make super backdrops for vamps. I live in Northern California, so I totally get walking the dark treacherous beaches. The wind howls and the waves crash like the thumping of an ancient vampiric heart. Lovely!
I can find the hottest vampire alive behind my eyelids - every time I shut them, he's there...and he NEVER disappoints ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for participating in this hop! I am finding so many new to me authors *happy dance!!*

Thank you so much for participating, Gena! We love you guys. All of the participants have made my day...This is a new site for me, so I treat all my new followers like gold.
DeleteI'm so happy you found some great new authors, too. This is an extremely talented group.
And yes, the best vamp heroes are the ones we make up, aren't they? Our job is to deliver those delicious dreams to the reader so they can't put the books down.
I like my vampires in my imagination, thank you. ;)
ReplyDeleteKindle would be great if I won. :D Love the site.

Hey there, Charlene!!! {{{winks and hugs}}}
DeleteI'm with you, our imagination is where all the magic happens. We are but guides to help the reader create a world they don't want to leave.
I love the way you weave those tales so creatively, and fill me with more dreams. Nice to see you here, girlfriend!
Can I find mine at the hospital where I work? *evil grin* Kindle format, please, seritzkoATgmailDOTcom
ReplyDeleteThat would be fun. Lurking behind the Xray machine? In the linen closet? Or could he be that dark handsome patient in bed 4B? Why not? He'd be a good blood donor...
DeleteI love vamps for their immortality, that we have them forever! They just so passionate!
ReplyDeletecathiecaffey @ gmail.com
Can you imagine being kissed by a man who has kissed women for 300 years? My guess is he'd be pretty good at it. Forever is indeed true love.
DeleteI can always find one in my imagination but would hunt for one where I work because I know they are sucking the life out of me and I'm pretty sure blood is next on their list.
ReplyDeletestrodesherry4 at gmail dot com
Sounds like we need a vamp who gives, as well as receives. No fun unless they can share the gift.
